"There is nothing more important than a good, safe, secure home"

- Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter

Upon arrival in the settlement the refugees are given a large tarp and poles for their home

Aside from the material provided, the refugees are expected to build their permanent house

These houses are built out of mud and sticks, which provide little relief from the elements and provide no security

Most have dirt floors, which leads to dirty and unsanitary living conditions
